Highway 1

Monterey
We finally made it back to the coast it was a great drive everyone is excited for the drive down the coast tonight we are staying in Monterey. We went down to Old Fishermens Wharf to grab some dinner.
This is the restaraunt we ate at Isabella's.  The food and service was fantastic!

just a picture from the pier thought it was cool.

The next morning we got up and spent the morning on Cannery Row in Monterey! We had to kill some time to let the fog burn off on Hwy 1 or we would not be able to see anything. Fortunately this group has no problem killing time, we can get out of the car to look at a meadow and accidently loose an hour. So you can just imagine what we are like with shops around us.

We use one of Forrest Gump's lines a whole lot. I gotta Pee! I even bought the bumber sticker.

China Rock (17 mile drive)

Bird Rock (17 Mile drive) We are pretty sure that white stuff on top of the rock is not snow.

Seal Rock (17 Mile Drive)

The Lone Cypress ( 17mile drive)

Bixby Bridge

Some new Rapper Frank Ocean was making a Video he was in this car. Brenda got to meet him.
They shutdown Bixby bridge for a few minutes while he drove acrossed it.

Just a couple of more pics of the coast!

This is a statue at a restaraunt called Nepenthe. The bird on top of here is called a phoenix. They had the best view ever.

We give this resteraunt a 10 for the beauty of it and about a 5 for the food extremely overpriced.  They are very proud of their food $16.00 for a hamburger.

This is the view from the deck of Nepenthe.

Mackenzie took a picture of Heath to show the curves in the road ahead.

Mom, Mackenzie and Brenda are very angry with the state of California for not having guard rails all the way down highway one.

These are just some more pics of coast.

The pictures above are elephant seals. They were alot of fun to watch.

This is a mountain in San Louis Obispo a little town we stayed in.

A few pics of the hotel in San Louis Obispo and a holla to Wayne and the best staff ever.

Mariposa Grove

Today we went to the Mariposa Grove it is the largest grove of giant sequioas in Yosemite some of the bases of the trees are up to 30ft in diameter.  The whole warm weather thing we have been hoping for not so much yet. Today they are all frieking out about the rain they are getting.  I am having a very hard time convincing everyone that california does have good weather and we will not have to wear our coats the entire vacation.

This is mom she now is wearing the following items in sunny Cali. Coat, gloves, scarf, hat and now wrapped in a blanket.

This is us at the tunnel tree.

This is one of the trees that hasfallen. It is referred to as the fallen monarch.

This is a portion of the root system of the fallen monarch.  Check out the man standing in front of it so you can put into perspective the size of this thing.

These are called the bachelor and three Graces.

These are just some pics of the grove

This is the Grizzly Giant.

This is us at a really cool wood carving place just outside of Yosemite.
